How to Download and Install Gen1Recomp Mods

  1. Back up your Gen1Recomp saves before adding or updating a mod.
  2. Find the individual mod by name, feature or category in the complete directory above.
  3. Open its repository first and read the developer's README, requirements and release notes.
  4. Use the Releases or Open mod ZIP button when the card provides one.
  5. Download the installable mod ZIP. Do not choose GitHub's automatic Source code archive unless the developer explicitly documents it as installable.
  6. In Gen1Recomp, open Mods, choose Import mod .zip, select the original ZIP and enable the mod.
  7. If a card documents manual folder installation, follow that repository's README instead.
  8. Test one new mod at a time so it is easier to identify conflicts.

The developer's current instructions always take priority. This website does not repackage, mirror or modify any mod files.

Before Combining or Updating Mods

  • Confirm that each mod supports your current Gen1Recomp version.
  • Check dependencies and conflicts shown on the card and in the current manifest or README.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these mods included with Gen1Recomp?

No. They are separate projects unless an individual developer repository explicitly states otherwise. Install only the mods you want.

Does this website host Gen1Recomp mod downloads?

No. Repository buttons open the developer's source, while release and ZIP buttons point to the installation location published on GitHub by that project.

Should I extract a mod ZIP before importing it?

Usually no. Gen1Recomp normally imports the installable ZIP directly. Follow a card's manual-install note only when the developer specifically documents folder installation.

Why do some similarly named mods appear separately?

Some developers have independently created mods for the same feature, such as experience sharing, battle move information or running. They remain separate because their code, controls and gameplay effects are not identical.

Will every Gen1Recomp mod work together?

No. Mods can change the same data or engine systems, require another mod, request special permissions or support different Gen1Recomp versions. Check every repository before combining them.
