Requirements Before Downloading Gen1Recomp

You need the official Gen1Recomp build for your device and a compatible user-supplied Pokemon Red, Blue or Yellow ROM. VoxelMod is required if you want the 3D graphics; Gen1Recomp can run without it in the normal 2D view.

The cards above link directly to release files from the Gen1Recomp and DramaticShapeVoxelMod GitHub repositories. This website does not mirror the downloads or provide Pokemon ROMs.

Choosing the Correct File

  • Windows, macOS or Linux: choose the ZIP labelled for your desktop system.
  • Android: install the APK if your device permits apps from the selected source, then use the Android setup guide.
  • iPhone or iPad: the IPA requires a separate sideloading method.
  • Anbernic RG34XXSP: use the Stock OS 64-bit MOD file only for the named target.
  • LÖVE package: choose the .love file only if you already use a compatible LÖVE 11.x runtime.
  • VoxelMod: download the separate ZIP and keep it compressed for import.

After Downloading

  1. Extract or install the Gen1Recomp package for your platform.
  2. Open Gen1Recomp and import your compatible Red, Blue or Yellow ROM.
  3. Test the base game before adding optional mods.
  4. To enable the voxel-style view, follow the Windows and Mac 3D guide or the Android 3D guide.

Updating Gen1Recomp or VoxelMod

Back up saves before changing versions. Update one project at a time, confirm that the base game still launches, then re-enable and test VoxelMod. Read both release notes because a new base version, mod version or mod conflict can change the result.
